Business Details The Vegetarian House is an organic vegan restaurant located in downtown San Jose; it was inspired by The Supreme Master Ching Hai, a worldly renowned spiritual teacher and humanitarian. The restaurant began operation in 1994 with a vision of a world where all beings, humans and animals could live together in peace, love and harmony. In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we use only freshly grown organic ingredients from local sources whenever possible. The restaurant also uses solar energy generated from solar panels on the roof and uses energy efficient lighting and appliances. Our fine dining restaurant is truly unique as we offer a wide range of vegan dishes from all over the world, including: China, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Middle East, Europe and the Americas. We guarantee your taste buds will be dancing with delight! You are sure to enjoy your dining experience with our friendly waiters and the peaceful, heavenly ambience of the dining room. Feel free to play our baby grand piano or take a seat at the bar and enjoy a freshly squeezed fruit or vegetable juice, ‘non alcoholic’ beer or try an award winning ‘non-alcoholic’ wine. There are also numerous creative lamps, clothing designs and paintings by the Supreme Master Ching Hai placed throughout the restaurant for you to enjoy. The Vegetarian House is committed to working towards a sustainable planet. In an effort to reduce our environmental impact, all waste is recycled or composted whenever possible. Our ‘TOGO’ packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials which are either biodegradable or compostable. As more and more people around the world are looking for an alternative way of living, the Vegetarian House hopes to offer a bridge to a noble plant based diet.
